About us
The Montenegrin Political Science Association (hereinafter referred to as the Association) is an autonomous and independent organization that brings together political scientists from Montenegro with the aim of promoting political science as a distinct academic discipline.
The mission of the Association is to foster high scientific and ethical standards in political science, to popularize political science research, to enhance knowledge and understanding of political processes, and to encourage the development of democratic political culture in Montenegro.
The name of the Association in English is: Montenegrin Political Science Association (MoPSA).
The goals of the MoPSA are:
- To promote and advance political science as a distinct academic discipline within the social sciences;
- To popularize and apply political science knowledge in order to contribute to a better understanding of political processes and phenomena, and to use that knowledge in addressing societal problems;
- To encourage and coordinate research efforts in the field of political science, with a particular focus on generating new insights, and providing both theoretical and practical contributions to the development of the discipline;
- To establish and improve professional, scientific, and ethical standards in political science to ensure the quality of research and professional practice;
- To build and enhance professional communication among political scientists, experts, and scholars in the field;
- To develop and improve communication with professionals from other fields and disciplines in order to foster an interdisciplinary approach and exchange of ideas;
- To establish cooperation and facilitate knowledge and experience sharing with other relevant associations in the region and around the world, in order to achieve a global perspective and better understanding of political issues;
- To protect the professional integrity, political, labor, and other rights of political scientists, and to promote their professional and ethical autonomy;
- To affirm the professional identity of academic profiles within the field of political science;
- To promote democratic political culture and processes in Montenegro through education, information-sharing, and the promotion of active citizenship.
